    Dr Bilal Philips visits Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Zanzibar – Pemba Office

    Dr Bilal Philips visited the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Zanzibar – Pemba Office to introduce the International Open University to the Ministry of Education officials and explore avenues for mutual cooperation and collaboration to improve education standards.

    Dr Bilal Philips visits MIA (IOU 1MAS learning center)

    IOU Founder-Chancellor Prof Dr Bilal Philips held a meeting with IOU students to discuss their challenges and suggestions with regard to their studies at IOU during a visit to Moyo Islamic Academy – MIA  (IOU 1MAS learning center) at Pemba on 7 April, 2024.

    IOU Founder & Chancellor Prof Dr Bilal Philips held a meeting with Mr Khamis Abdallah, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Education in Zanzibar; Dr Mwanakhamis Adam Ameir (Deputy Principal Secretary Academics); Mr Abdallah Mohamed Mussa, Director, Department of Education in Zanzibar, and Dr Mohamed Salum, IOU Representative in Tanzania at the office of the Ministry of Education in Zanzibar on 4 April 2024 during an ongoing tour of Tanzania.

     

     

    Prof. Dr. Bilal Philips gave a gift his new book to Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Education.

    We held 4th Meeting with our students.

    Thanks to Allah, today (25/02/2024) we were able to conduct the 4th Meeting with students.

    The meeting started on 09:45 Morning and adjourned at 12:59 noon

    The Key Agendas discussed were:-

    1. Reviewing the previous Meeting (i.e. 3rd Meeting held on 27/08/2023) and its implementation and resolutions.
    2. New regulations and rules for applying scholarship
    3. Evaluation of FALL 2023 Semester

    Graduation Ceremony for Malaysian IOU Students

    IOU Founder & Chancellor Prof Dr Bilal Philips attended a meeting of IOU Students at the Malaysian Graduation Ceremony held at Yayasan Ta’lim, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

    IOU graduates, students and their family members attended the ceremony where Dr Bilal presented certificates and gifts to nine Malaysian graduates from different batches. Afterward, Dr Bilal had a Q&A session and discussion with the IOU students on improving IOU.

    World Teachers’ Day is an international day held annually on 5 October to celebrate the work of teachers. Established in 1994, it commemorates the signing of recommendation by the International Labour Organization and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

    As an Islamic academy, MIA join on #WorldTeachersDay a thread celebrating Fatima al-Fihri & her commitment to education.

    Did you know the worlds first University was founded over 1000 years ago by a Muslim woman, Fatima al-Fihri? The al-Qarawiyyin University in Fez, Morocco, is still in operation today!

    Another milestone for MIA

    It was a blessed day, thanks to Almighty God.

    Today we had a virtual meeting with Mr. Bonface Kamau who is the Representative of ABE – for East Africa. And discuss about cooperation between MIA and ABE.
