MIA & IOU Academic Writing Workshop Concluded Successfully

The Directorate of Academic Assessment and Itqan (DAAI) at Moyo Islamic Academy (MIA) has successfully concluded a specialized training workshop titled “Mastering Academic Writing: A Freshman’s Guide to Paraphrasing, Citation, and Referencing.”
Held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the workshop commenced at 10:00 AM EAT and was delivered via a hybrid format, seamlessly engaging students both in-people at the campus and virtually via online platforms.

The primary objective of this session was to equip new and continuing MIA students, alongside newly enrolled International Open University (IOU) students based in Pemba, with fundamental scholarly skills. The training focused heavily on:
- High-Quality Assignment Production: Direct strategies to elevate academic output and boost overall grades.
- Effective Paraphrasing: Rewriting scholarly ideas in the student’s own words while preserving the integrity of the original source text.
- Accurate Citation and Referencing: Navigating the technicalities of properly attributing academic sources.
- Plagiarism Avoidance: Implementing vital ethical practices to protect and preserve academic integrity.

The DAAI management extends its sincere appreciation to all students for their high attendance and active participation across both digital and physical channels. Their dedication reflects the true spirit of “Itqan” (excellence) in their academic pursuits.
For students who were unable to attend or those wishing to review the material, session summaries and training resources will be made available through the internal campus channels shortly.
